Royal Jordanian is the flag carrier of Jordan, based in Amman. The airline allows pets in the aircraft cabin and the baggage hold on most of its flights.

There is a limit on pets allowed on each flight. Up to 2 pets can be transported in the cabin at the same time, and up to 4 pets in the hold. Due to these restrictions, Royal Jordanian Customer Service recommends passengers reserve a seat for their pets on board just after their travel plans have been confirmed. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours before departure time and must be approved by the reservations department. If you travel with a small cat or dog, you can take it into the cabin with you. Small pets are allowed on the Economy Class section of Royal Jordanian flights, as long as the journey does not exceed 5 hours. Pets travel in the cabin subject to the following requirements:

• The weight of the animal and its container/transport bag must not exceed 7 kg;

• The pet must be transported in a container/bag with maximum dimensions of 50 x 40 x 26 cm;

• The container/bag must have ventilation on 4 sides;

• It must be leakproof and escape-proof;

• The container/bag must be placed under the seat in front of the pet owner;

• The number of pets in the cabin must not exceed two;

• The flight must not last longer than 5 hours;

• Only clean and healthy animals accompanied by all the necessary documentation are allowed to travel on board Royal Jordanian flights;

• The fee for transportation in the cabin varies from $150 to $180 depending on the destination country.

Dogs and cats weighing more than 7 kg (including the container/bag) may be accepted as checked baggage on the same flight with the owner. Pets are considered excess baggage and cannot be included in the checked baggage allowance. When transporting pets in the hold, the following conditions must be met:

• Reservations must be made at least 48 hours before departure time;

• A maximum of 4 pets are allowed in the hold on the same flight;

• There is no weight limit, but the fee is different depending on the total weight of the pet and its container;

• The container/bag must have ventilation on 4 sides;

• It must be leakproof and escape-proof;

• Only clean and healthy animals accompanied by all the necessary documentation are allowed to travel on board Royal Jordanian flights.

Fees for pet transportation as checked baggage

• Small containers up to 32 kg and less than 203 cm are charged from $300 to $400 depending on the destination country;

• Containers weighing from 32 to 45 kg and less than 203 cm are charged from $375 to $600;

• Containers weighing from 32 to 45 kg with dimensions over 203 up to 250 cm are charged from $500 to $800.
